Who may particularly benefit

This may include young people affected by poverty, caring responsibilities, family substance misuse, disrupted attendance, low confidence, geographical isolation or limited transport. Circumstances should be handled confidentially and never used to define the young person publicly.

What the school partnership involves

We want one named Academy contact, a clear and stigma-free invitation or referral route, proportionate information sharing, support with attendance barriers and a termly review of participation and progression.

How invitations work

  1. Introduce

Explain the opportunity positively to pupils and families.

  2. Identify

Consider interests, strengths, circumstances and potential benefit.

  3. Invite

Offer participation privately without deficit language.

  4. Welcome

Share the information required for safe and accessible participation.

  5. Support

Respond proportionately to attendance or transport barriers.

  6. Review

Recognise achievements and agree the next appropriate step.

What Clootie provides

A consistent local after-school base, trusted adult relationships, mentor and opportunity links, individual progression support, safeguarding oversight and aggregated evidence of participation and outcomes.
