For families
If you could give your child one opportunity, experience or connection over the next few years that could broaden their horizons, what would it be?
That is exactly the sort of thing we want Clootie Club to help create. We want young people to discover opportunities, build confidence and see possibilities for their future that they might not otherwise encounter. We also want the programme to reflect what local families actually need.
What Clootie may offer
It might mean meeting someone from a profession your child has never considered, trying a new sport or activity, visiting somewhere new, working on a project, developing communication skills or discovering something they are particularly good at.
How families can help
You know your child better than anyone. You do not need any particular experience or background to get involved. It may simply mean encouraging attendance, coming to an occasional information session, sharing an idea, introducing us to someone interesting or helping us understand a practical barrier.
Education and career information
We want families to understand the full range of routes: college, university, apprenticeships, training, employment, enterprise and volunteering. Information should be impartial and practical, including entry routes, costs, travel and available support.
The belief we hope every young person leaves with
“There are more possibilities open to me than I realised, and I can do something with them.”
We would love local families to help us build that belief.
